Ocasio-Cortez Makes THREAT Against Supreme Court Justices
(TheRedWire.com) – The US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday, June 24. In the wake of the decision, Democrats took a scorched-earth approach to the decision. For instance, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said the Left would defy the court. Then, on Sunday, June 26, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) appeared on Meet the Press. She tore into the court for its decision and threatened consequences against two conservative Justices she reportedly doesn’t like.
AOC cited earlier statements from Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Susan Collins (R-ME) confirming that Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch testified to them, under oath, that Roe v. Wade represented settled law.
The New York socialist Democratic then said the Senate should impeach and remove the two justices from office because they misled Senators during their confirmation hearings. She added that Supreme Court justices should not be able to lie under oath and then be rewarded with a lifetime appointment.

Not everyone agrees with AOC’s line of thinking. On Sunday, the Wall Street Journal editorial board pushed back on her assertion that the justices lied during their confirmation hearings. Yes, both men said Roe was a legal precedent. But, neither said they wouldn’t consider overturning that precedent if the proper case came along.
As the Wall Street Journal noted, it’s not inconsistent for a Supreme Court nominee to acknowledge a historical event without acknowledging what decision they might make in a future case. In fact, during her confirmation hearing in 2020, Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett rejected the idea that Roe was a super precedent that was untouchable.
