(TheRedWire.com) – In Michigan, the primary vote is going to be affected by the”uncommitted” protest vote, which has the support of Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., against President Joe Biden.

The state has a large number of Arab-Americans who are opposing the President’s handling of the war in Gaza. In Dearborn, Michigan, the Arab-American majority is considered to be an important voting bloc in the 2024 presidential election.

The pro-Palestinian activists are trying to get Michigan to bring down the number of Democrat votes for president as they are protesting Biden’s support for Israel. Israel’s war against Gaza broke out following the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks.

Abed Ayoub, the national executive director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, told the Journal that this buildup was the result of the repeated attempts to keep the community quiet. Continuing Ayoub pointed out that the voice of the people was going to be heard through this vote and that the one thing they could not do was silence them at the polls.

The activists are trying to use the vote in order to send a message to the Democrats to not take the Arab-American voters for granted considering the conflict in the Middle East. This “uncommitted” vote would help the Democratic party understand that the Muslim and Arab-American votes should not be considered Democratic and that they could either vote for a third party or completely boycott the vote.

Grassroots Midwest CEO Adrian Hemond argued that they would need to pay attention especially as the margins in the state had been very tight in 2020.
