Avoiding Civil Unrest Through Inauguration Day

(TheRedWire.com) – In the wake of the January 6 riot that overtook Capitol Hill, an FBI bulletin released earlier this week predicts danger leading up to the presidential inauguration on Wednesday, January 20. According to news outlets, the FBI indicated there could be armed protests in all 50 state capitols from January 16 through inauguration day.

If you’re like many people, you’re concerned about protecting your assets, property, and well-being. Protests can spring up anywhere and at any time. You want to be prepared in the event one happens close to you. So, what are some simple but important things you can do:

  • Stay home and enjoy a movie or sporting event on television if you don’t have to go anywhere.
  • Have cash available in the event banks or ATMs close or don’t work.
  • Stock groceries and toiletries, including water, food and batteries.
  • Ensure your vehicle has a full tank of gas in the event you are out and about and suddenly find yourself stuck in traffic due to a protest.

Let’s hope things settle down after the inauguration. Until then, be diligent and safe.
