(TheRedWire.com) – As Americans planned to celebrate Thanksgiving, some weren’t finding as many reasons to be thankful this holiday season as in years past. In the second half of 2021, inflation hit Americans hard, and virtually everything one buys is more expensive than last year. Gasoline, airline flights, and the high cost of fewer turkeys are taking a chunk out of people’s wallets. Experts predict that 2021 will become the most expensive Thanksgiving on record.

Poll after poll shows voters feel President Joe Biden and the Democratic-led Congress are out of touch with everyday Americans. The president’s approval ratings range anywhere from the high thirties to the low forties. A new ABC News-Washington Post poll says 62% believe Democrats don’t have a clue.
These low polling figures come as consumer prices are the worst they’ve been in 30 years. The Biden administration blames inflation on the supply chain crisis. Others blame the fast pace rise in prices on trillions of dollars in government spending that flooded the economy and created a massive demand for products unavailable during the pandemic.
Since March, Biden and his economic team claimed inflation was transitory. Now, numerous economists, including former Obama Treasury officials, believe rising prices could continue for at least another year.
Biden is trying to paint a rosy picture, but it may not work. As the holiday travel season gets underway, the administration could face backlash as Americans adventure out, pay the cost of rising prices, and experience a challenging travel season.
