(TheRedWire.com) – Biden declares he’s “not going anywhere” and swipes at Trump at a White House Fourth of July barbecue.
On Thursday, President Joe Biden gave a speech in front of service members and military families who had gathered for the White House barbecue.
After speaking for about four minutes, the President made unscripted remarks about Trump, stating that he visited the “World War I cemetery in France,” but “the former President didn’t want to go and be up there,” acknowledging this is something he “shouldn’t have said,” to a murmur of giggles.
“Anyway,” the President concluded, “we gotta… remember who the hell we are: We’re the United States of America.”
During last Thursday’s Presidential Debate, Biden took a similar dig at Trump. His remarks are a reference to a report The Atlantic released in 2020, which alleges Trump disparaged service members who passed away during battle as “losers” and “suckers.” However, Trump repeatedly denies such claims.
In response to Biden’s off-the-cuff remarks, a supporter yells, “We need you,” and encourages the President to “Keep up the fight.”
Biden replies, “You got me, man. I’m not going anywhere.”
Since Biden’s performance during the Presidential Debate last week, his public appearances have been heavily scrutinized.
However, even amid calls for him to withdraw from the race, some coming from House Democrats, Biden’s team is adamant he won’t be stepping aside and is focused on beating Trump. They have since acknowledged his poor performance and offered several reasons Biden stumbled.
Yet, despite Biden’s battles, Trump has remained uncharacteristically quiet about his opponent’s political future.
