(TheRedWire.com) – On Sunday, President Biden criticized Republicans for continuing to support the National Rifle Association following the two latest shootings in Alabama and Kentucky.

In his statement, Biden wrote that once again the U.S. is grieving as “at least four Americans (were) tragically killed at a teen’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama.” Two kids were also killed in Louisville. He added that he and the first lady were praying for the victim’s families and for those who were injured during “this weekend’s gun violence.”

On Saturday night, a shooting occurred at a 16-year-old’s birthday party in Alabama which resulted in the death of four people and in a dozen of teenagers being injured. In Louisville, two people were killed and four were injured following a shooting at Chickasaw Part. These are the two latest shootings, with another shooting that took place a few days prior at a Louisville bank, leaving five dead.

In his statement Biden criticized the GOP for failing to take any action against gun violence, stating that America needs common sense gun laws. He once again called for Congress to pass gun safety laws and to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines across the nation.

He proceeded to question the state of the country on how children are not allowed to attend a birthday party, school, go to the park, or movie theater without fearing for their lives. He added that this was both “outrageous and unacceptable” and that the majority of Americans agreed gun safety reforms were necessary.
