(TheRedWire.com) – After Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, few thought the country would last long against the superior Russian military. So far, the Ukrainians are holding their own. The Ukrainians say they will not willingly give up their country, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuses to leave Kyiv, vowing to fight for the city despite American suggestions he should withdraw to another town near Poland. Now, a leaked White House report reveals the Biden administration is considering what a Ukrainian government would look like if Russia occupies some, much, or all of the country.
The secret White House document doesn’t mention any sources by name but says if Kyiv and other major cities fall to Russia, the current Ukrainian government could exile to another country. Some believe a recent United Nations vote laid the groundwork to recognize the current Ukrainian government if it settles elsewhere.

Regardless, Russian President Vladimir Putin appears to have underestimated Ukraine’s resistance, which could last for months or even years. Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks said the war is far from over even in the event Russia takes Kyiv. Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to President Zelenskyy, said the Russian invasion is now a war for Ukrainians, one they must win. He said there’s absolutely no other choice.
Stay tuned. The Russian/Ukrainian conflict is ongoing, and much can change at a moment’s notice.
