(TheRedWire.com) – On Sunday, Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R) slammed President Joe Biden over the “lawless” crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border and warned that the stance he had taken on this could put at risk future funding requests made by the Biden administration.
Scott stated that they would not be doing anything else to help fund the administration’s priorities, including providing funding for Ukraine, and the federal government until they manage to secure the border. He argued that the Biden administration did not care for the laws and that it was “lawless.”
This latest warning comes after a group of Republican lawmakers recently took a trip to Eagle Pass to look at the border. The Senate is preparing for the Jan. 10 impeachment proceedings against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Congress has placed a heavy focus on the border where the number of crossings has reached unprecedented numbers while the Biden administration’s focus is on providing further aid to Israel and Ukraine.
Scott has argued that he would be focusing on law enforcement on the southern border and that this would be what he and a lot of others were working on. He then pointed out that everyone was committed to ensuring border security and that they would not continue to back legislation in Congress.
Scott further claimed that Biden had the blind support of the Senate Democrats and that they were acting like robots giving Biden everything he wanted. As Scott pointed out this was a risk to everyone in the country, and argued that on Monday Congress would return and place an even heavier focus on the border.
