Biden Invites Openly Anti-Police 'Advocate' to White House

( – On Tuesday, December 13, President Joe Biden held a ceremonial signing for the Respect for Marriage Act. Last week, the House passed the bill 258 to 169, with 29 Republicans voting for the legislation. Days earlier, the Senate passed it with GOP support 61 to 36. The law mandates that the federal government recognize same-sex marriages in states where they are legal. Now, the White House is under scrutiny for inviting a self-acknowledged nonbinary drag artist who was an openly anti-police advocate to the ceremony.

Marti Gould Cummings thanked the president for inviting him to the event and said it was something he never thought would happen. Over the last several years, Biden stated he disapproved of defunding the police. Yet, in the 2020 presidential election, he said he would support redirecting money from law enforcement. In 2020, Cummings unsuccessfully ran for the New York City Council. He made defunding public safety a core issue of his campaign while expressing pride in his lifestyle.

Cummings noted that with the support of “other queer candidates,” they would fight for citizens, not police unions or real estate professionals. Fox News Digital found an extensive history of bashing law enforcement on his Twitter page.

Fox News reported that the White House didn’t respond to a request to comment.
