(TheRedWire.com) – President Biden’s supporters are trying to save him from suffering electoral embarrassment in the first-in-the-nation presidential primary in New Hampshire by leading an effort to have him write-in ballots for him.
Many of the most prominent Democrats in the state have come together to launch grassroots efforts to include Biden in the ballots through write-ins following the President’s decision not to put his name down on the state’s primary ballot.
The primary in New Hampshire will not comply with the 2024 nominating calendar created by the Democratic National Committee, which included several changes that President Biden had suggested. One of those changes included New Hampshire no longer being the first-in-the-nation state despite holding that position for a century.
In response to the state’s decision, Biden has argued that he would not be placing his name on the ballot of the unsanctioned contest.
The Democrats argue on their website that the 2024 presidential election was important to the country’s democracy. In an email, they further stated that over “100 grassroots leaders and volunteers” from across the statement were launching “Write-In” efforts to get voters to commit to voting for Joe Biden in the presidential primary despite his name not being already included in the ballot.
They have further pointed out that the efforts are completely independent and not connected to the state’s Democratic Party or the 2024 re-election campaign.
Jim Demers, a veteran Democratic strategist connected to the group, stated that there was “absolutely” no communication with the re-election campaign and that he had not heard anything from them. Instead, he argued that the citizens completely led these efforts.
