(TheRedWire.com) – On Friday President Biden had a surprise live interview with Howard Stern. The two had sat down for a close to hour long conversation at his New York City Studio where they discussed Biden’s time at the White House and his personal life.
Biden during the interview discussed the pain and despair he had felt after the death of his first wife Neilia, and their daughter Naomi who at the time had been 13 months old. He stated that at the time he was even considering starting to drink despite the fact that he had never been an alcohol drinker.
He continued by saying that he thought about getting drunk and argued that one did not need to be “crazy to commit suicide.” He added that people who have been in that position know that when you are at the bottom you think that there is no way out.
Biden also stated that at the time he was having suicidal thoughts such as jumping off the Delaware Memorial Bridge and urged all those struggling to try and get therapy.
The surprise interview was unexpected as it was not part of Biden’s public schedule. On Thursday night Biden had been in New York City in attendance at a fundraiser by actor Michael Douglas.
Stern continued by asking Biden a variety of questions regarding both his professional and personal life. Biden in response talked about his time in law school when he had not taken his schooling seriously. The two also discussed Biden’s time as a public defender and Biden even stated that he would be willing to debate Trump.
