(TheRedWire.com) – China and US relations are at an all-time low. For decades, there were concerns about the Chinese communist government stealing US secrets from nuclear technology to major weapon systems. In January, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) indicted MIT professor Gang Chen on charges of grant fraud by offering advice and expertise to Chinese government officials regarding their technological and scientific developments to the tune of $29 million.
In 2017, Cheng spoke at MIT China Conference in Shanghai. Speaking alongside him was President Biden’s newest member of the National Economic Council (NEC). Elisabeth Reynolds provided the Chinese government and small businesses with insights on how to grow their economy and businesses in two different presentations. MIT appears to have a robust program and relationship with the Chinese government and businesses through the MIT Industrial Liaison Program that provides assistance and suggestions from MIT professionals.
Over the years, Biden and his family have conducted business in the communist country. What does it mean? Perhaps nothing. Then again, time will tell.
