(TheRedWire.com) – On Wednesday morning, Hunter Biden arrived on Capitol Hill for his deposition as part of the impeachment inquiry that has been opened against President Joe Biden, his father.
The first son is likely to take questions from congressional investigators and lawmakers during the closed doors deposition. The Judiciary and House Oversight committees will be handling the deposition which is set to start at 10 a.m.
Last week, James Biden, the younger brother of the president testified in the impeachment inquiry. As he claimed his brother had never been involved either indirectly or directly in any of his financial interests.
House Republicans had previously heard testimony from several former associates of Hunter Biden, including Tony Bobulinsi, who had claimed that Joe Biden was frequently involved in the business ventures of the family. During his testimony, he had also claimed that he had personally had a meeting with Biden.
The White House and House Democrats had slammed the inquiry claiming that it is baseless. However, the Republicans have maintained that their findings so far have only scratched the surface of the Biden family business.
James Comer (R-Ky.), who serves as the chair of the House Oversight Committee had argued that the Judiciary, Ways and Means Committees, and House Oversight had all found a record of evidence that showed that his family had used Joe Biden as a “brand” that allowed them to grow their wealth. It is also noted that Joe Biden had knowingly participated in these schemes and had attended meetings, and dinners and had spoken on the phone with Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates.
