(TheRedWire.com) – On Saturday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., responded to those in the White House who have criticized her for stating that she would not be voting in favor of the House of Representative funding unless an impeachment inquiry was opened against President Biden.
The House GOP has frequently brought up the possibility of an impeachment inquiry being opened against the president following the recent allegations of corruption related to the Biden family’s foreign business activities. Republicans have claimed that Hunter Biden, the President’s son, frequently used his father’s position as vice President during the Obama administration to gain access to business deals worldwide, including in Ukraine.
In a post on X, formerly called Twitter, Greene stated that the White House had been attacking her over her demand for an impeachment inquiry to be opened before voting in favor of adding “one penny to our over bloated 32 TRILLION dollars in debt failing government.” She argued that they had the evidence and that the White House was outraged over her, stating that they needed to ask questions and investigate the case even further. Greene had made her calls for an inquiry during a Floyd County Town Hall on Thursday.
The White House spokesperson had claimed that Greene was part of the “hardcore fringe” of the GOP following her statements that she would not vote to fund the House of Representatives unless an impeachment inquiry was launched. She also called for defunding “Biden’s weaponization of government,” stopping all vaccine and mask mandates related to the pandemic and eliminating all funding from the U.S. to Ukraine.
