(TheRedWire.com) – Former President Bill Clinton took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to defend President Joe Biden following his debate performance.
Clinton argued that while he would just leave it to pundits to rate the debate, what he does know is that “facts and history matter.” He added that Biden has given the U.S. three years of solid leadership, taking the country out of the pandemic, and increasing jobs in the country by record numbers while also working to bring down inflation and provide solutions to climate change. He noted that Biden was doing all of that while bringing the country out of the “quagmire” that Trump had left them in. He pointed out that this was what was truly at stake in the upcoming election.
Biden’s poor performance during the presidential debate has resulted in a lot of panic among Democrats. Some have even pushed for him to step aside and let someone else become the Democratic candidate against former President Donald Trump. The Biden campaign and the White House have pushed back against this request arguing that Biden is in the race for the long haul.
On Friday, the President during a campaign stop in North Carolina tried to calm the concerns and argued that he was a politician who knew how to get up after being “knocked down.”
Following Thursday’s debate many prominent Democrats have rushed to Biden’s defense, with Clinton being the latest one to defend Biden.
Immediately after the debate, Harris defended Biden during a CNN interview arguing that while he had a “slow start” at the presidential debate he managed to have a “strong finish.”
