(TheRedWire.com) – On Saturday, Twitter CEO Elon Musk predicted that former President Donald Trump would win the 2024 presidential election in a “landslide” if he is indicted next week.
Musk’s Twitter post came in response to a Fox News segment that detailed the Manhattan District Attorney’s office meeting with law enforcement ahead of the potential indictment of Trump. The meeting has not yet been set up but it was reportedly requested on Thursday.
According to a source familiar with the planning, the meeting would be focused on the logistics ahead of the possible indictment. It is also noted that the Secret Service will be the ones to decide what is and is not allowed, or if for example Trump could potentially be handcuffed or not.
The indictment would be the result of a probe into the hush money payments allegedly made by Trump to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. At the time, then-lawyer Michael Cohen sent $130,000 to Daniels in exchange for her silence regarding her alleged affair with Donald Trump years prior. Trump has repeatedly denied the affair but did reimburse Cohen for the payment in installments.
The office, led by DA Alvin Bragg, has been handling the probe into these payments for the past five years.
On Saturday Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social to write that according to “illegal leaks” the DA was planning on arresting him on Tuesday. He then proceeded to call on his supporters to “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”
