(TheRedWire.com) – Any opportunity to use Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) against her fellow Democrats excites Republicans. Some expect the 2022 midterms to be difficult for Democrats, and AOC isn’t doing the party any favors. In 2019, she started her own political action committee (PAC) to raise funds independently of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). Her goal was to defeat moderate Democrats in primaries. While AOC wants to help a few incumbent moderate Democrats now, it appears some don’t want her help because the GOP capitalizes on those who received her money, sometimes without them knowing.

During the week of April 19, the GOP created a website called SocialistGiveBack.com. It lists 26 House Democrats who received money from the Socialist Democrat’s PAC. Republicans accuse moderate Democratic recipients in highly contested districts of supporting the far-left. The problem for some Democrats is they didn’t even know about the gifts. Apparently, AOC got their bank information from the DCCC and just deposited the money. Filing of the first-quarter campaign finance reports aided in the discovery. Four Democrats have already returned the money.
It looks like AOC’s faux pas could benefit Republicans, who now have the receipts to show the source of some Democrats’ money.
