( – In a recent “Hacks on Tap” podcast episode former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who withdrew from the 2024 presidential race earlier this year, gave President Joe Biden debate advice that would allow him to defeat former President Donald Trump in the upcoming debates.

Christie, who had previously been an ally of the former President has now emerged as one of his biggest critics in this primary. In the podcast, he told hosts Mike Murphy and David Axelrod, the former senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, that the advice he was giving Biden was the same as the advice he had given to the former President before the 2020 presidential debates.

Christie pointed out that this was advice he had given to Trump, but that the former President had chosen not to follow it. He added that the advice was simple as it was just to let Biden talk, as the more he would talk the more likely it is that he will “hang himself.” He continued by pointing out that Trump had ultimately done the opposite which is why he had ended up losing the debate.

He noted that his advice for Biden would now be the same and that it does not matter what inaccuracies Trump puts forward, the best thing for the President is to remain quiet and just let him talk. He added that the moment you end up engaging with the criticisms is when he would lose the fight. Christie also argued that if Trump is allowed to just continue talking then the voters will start just questioning if he can keep his mouth shut.
