(TheRedWire.com) – On Wednesday, Chris Christie, one of the Republican presidential candidates, blasted former President Donald Trump over his invitation to former President Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton, to attend his wedding to Melania Trump in 2005.
On Tuesday, Trump criticized Christie by claiming he had been the one responsible for completely obliterating 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s chances of winning the White House through his collaboration with then-President Biden after Hurricane Sandy hit.
Christie, the former governor of New Jersey, responded to Trump’s claims by noting that he had invited the country’s then-President to visit New Jersey after it had been hit by one of the biggest natural disasters in the state’s history. He then took a jab at Trump, adding that he had not invited him to his wedding.
Christie’s post also included a photo from the 2005 wedding in which Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, were smiling beside the Clintons.
On Tuesday, Trump attacked Christie in a Truth Social post over his decision to praise Obama for his recovery efforts after Hurricane Sandy. He had also alleged that Christie was wholly starstruck and Romney had no chance of winning the Presidency, mainly as Christie had sold him out.
Christie, who had once been an ally of Trump, is now one of his most vocal opponents in the 2024 presidential race. Since joining the race, the two men have repeatedly attacked each other on various issues.
