Clarence Thomas’ Wife To Be Questioned by the January 6th Committee
(TheRedWire.com) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) commissioned the partisan January 6 House Select Committee in 2021. Only two Republicans serve on the panel of mostly Democrats — anti-Trumpers Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL). They are reportedly working to determine the origins of the riot on Capitol Hill and have targeted former President Donald Trump as the chief culprit. The committee has asked to speak with Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, spouse of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. On Wednesday, September 21, Thomas’ attorney confirmed she would appear before the committee to answer questions.

The group alleges text messages show the justice’s wife allegedly tried to influence former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and lawmakers in several states to overturn the 2020 election results. Still, her relationship with conservative lawyer John Eastman may be drawing the most interest from the committee.
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and Cheney say they are specifically interested in Eastman’s activities in supposedly drawing up a tactic to replace electors on the Electoral College with Trump supporters.
In June, the select committee asked Thomas to appear after she told the media she couldn’t wait to “clear up misconceptions.” On Wednesday, her attorney, Mark Paoletta, reaffirmed her previous statement. In late June, the attorney told them that despite the allegations, emails between Thomas and Eastman don’t show her efforts to supposedly overturn the election were “more extensive than previously known.”
Neither party has announced a date for her appearance.
