CNN Calls Out Biden’s Misleading Claims
(TheRedWire.com) – President Joe Biden has sometimes played loose with the truth throughout his nearly 50-year political career. Over the last 20 months, few liberal media outlets called the president out on his heated rhetoric or allegations. However, on Saturday, November 5, CNN fact checkers reversed the trend and called him out for several false claims.
On Thursday, November 3, Biden stated that tax cuts instituted under former President Donald Trump in 2017 only benefited those in the top one percent. Yet, middle-class Americans also got a tax cut. Approximately 82% of middle-class households got a tax reduction with an average savings of $1,260, and 90% saw their take-home pay increase.

Recently, Biden also asserted the government reduced the national debt by 50%. CNN noted he was wrong and likely confused it with the federal deficit, which did decline by nearly half in 2021 and 2022. Still, the liberal news outlet said Biden’s assertion was misleading, citing record-high government spending in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Social Security, Biden said recipients were getting the biggest increase in 10 years. Yet, CNN noted that, too, was misleading. Social security checks are increasing in 2023 due to high inflation and a cost-of-living (COLA) adjustment. Additionally, the news outlet said COLA increases occurred most years over the past decade.
Similarly, the president said gas prices were down from $5 highs when he took office. CNN noted that was false. In January 2021, gas was $2.38 per gallon. The record high of $5 occurred in June.
What do you think of CNN finally calling Biden out on his misleading claims?
