The Biden family, once a powerful political dynasty, may now be experiencing a financial downfall as their alleged influence-peddling network collapses following Joe Biden’s departure from the White House.

Quick Takes

  • Reports suggest the Biden family is facing significant financial difficulties now that their political influence has diminished
  • According to commentators, “Biden Inc.” has collapsed, ending what some call a lucrative influence-peddling operation
  • Joe Biden’s potential income from speeches, board positions, and book deals is reportedly much lower than anticipated
  • Legal costs may be draining the family’s resources as investigations continue into alleged influence-peddling schemes

Financial Troubles After Leaving Office

The Biden family appears to be experiencing serious financial strain according to recent reports that suggest their wealth is rapidly diminishing. Political analysts Mark Halperin and Sean Spicer have both indicated that the family’s financial situation has deteriorated significantly since losing access to the power and influence of the presidency. The family’s alleged network of business connections, which critics have long claimed relied heavily on access to Joe Biden’s political position, may no longer be generating the income it once did, leaving the Bidens in an increasingly precarious financial position.

“I talked to someone very familiar with the Bidens, and I think they’ve pointed out something that I’m gonna say now, that to me, is the explanation, or at least part of the explanation, which is Biden Inc. has collapsed,” said Mark Halperin.

Sources familiar with the Biden family’s affairs suggest their financial difficulties stem directly from the loss of political influence following President Trump’s return to office. Without the power of the presidency behind them, speaking engagements, book deals, and corporate board positions that might typically provide lucrative post-presidency income are reportedly not materializing at the expected levels. Additionally, mounting legal fees associated with ongoing investigations into alleged influence-peddling schemes may be further depleting their resources.

The End of “Biden Inc.”

Critics have long alleged that the Biden family operated what they describe as an influence-peddling enterprise that leveraged Joe Biden’s political positions for financial gain. House Oversight Committee investigations have compiled evidence they claim demonstrates Joe Biden’s direct involvement in his family’s business dealings with foreign entities during his time as Vice President. These allegations include claims that Biden met with Hunter’s business associates, participated in business calls, and may have received a portion of the proceeds from these arrangements.

According to testimony from Devon Archer, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, Joe Biden was referred to as “The Brand” in business dealings. The House Oversight Committee reports that Joe Biden spoke with Hunter’s foreign business partners on speakerphone over 20 times and allegedly met with Russian and Kazakh oligarchs connected to Hunter’s business ventures in 2014. These connections, which allegedly provided financial benefits to the Biden family, appear to have dried up now that Joe Biden no longer holds political office.

Attempted Comeback Facing Challenges

Reports indicate Joe Biden is attempting to rehabilitate his public image and possibly create new revenue streams. According to Politico, he has hired a former Pentagon spokesperson to manage what some are calling the “Biden comeback.” This effort suggests recognition within Biden’s inner circle of both the reputational and financial challenges the family now faces. However, commentators remain skeptical about whether these efforts will translate into the kind of income needed to maintain the lifestyle to which the family has become accustomed.

“There’s a story in Politico today that says they’ve hired the former Pentagon spokesperson to manage the Biden comeback,” Mark Halperin said.

The House Oversight Committee has published extensive documentation they claim shows Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s business affairs, including allegations that he used the pseudonym “Robert L. Peters” in communications involving Hunter and Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Additionally, they point to emails suggesting Joe Biden would receive 10% of profits from a deal with a Chinese company in 2017, and Hunter Biden’s references to Joe as his business partner. These allegations, whether substantiated or not, appear to be affecting the Biden family’s ability to generate income now that Joe Biden is out of office.
