(TheRedWire.com) – On Friday, Jim Homes, a Democratic congressman from Connecticut, claimed that it was clear that Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son, had broken the law. He added that during the Trump administration, there had never been a Republican Congress member to have claimed that Hunter Biden should be prosecuted.
Himes then told MSNBC that while it is evident that Hunter Biden broke the law regarding his taxes and possibly firearm ownership, he should be held accountable for that. He slammed the GOP for not taking a stance against former President Donald Trump, who was indicted.
Himes added that Hunter Biden should also be held accountable if he had taken advantage of President Biden’s influence to commit crimes. As he noted, this is not something that any Republican has said about Donald Trump and his family.
During the interview, the congressman also pointed out that there is currently no evidence that President Biden had colluded with his son to commit any crimes but that any such evidence that comes up should be seriously considered. In terms of a possible impeachment of Joe Biden, he added that right now, they did not have any evidence against the President, especially regarding him being aware of Hunter Biden’s actions. He did note, however, that if President Biden had been involved, the conversation would change a lot.
Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanors relating to his failure to pay income tax. He is currently under further federal investigation.
