(TheRedWire.com) – In August 2021, President Joe Biden ordered the swift military withdrawal from Afghanistan. Soon after, his approval ratings plunged. During 2022, Biden has endured some of the worst polling in modern history. According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on December 14, the president’s approval rating is 39%, with 56% disapproving. On Monday, December 19, the RealClearPolitics average of polls showed 52.5% disapprove and 43.3 approve of the current White House occupant’s job performance. Now, a Democratic group is telling the commander-in-chief not to run again.
RootsAction, a self-described progressive group that claimed credit for helping defeat former President Donald Trump in 2020, released the one-minute ad in New Hampshire. It featured voters expressing their reasons for not wanting Biden to run for re-election in 2024. One voter stated the country couldn’t risk putting a Republican back in the White House as images of Trump and Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis ran in the background. One emphasized concern about Biden’s approval rating. Others noted his disapproval ratings or age.
On December 9, a CNBC All-America Economic Survey poll showed that Americans don’t want either Biden or Trump to run in 2024. Still, only 19% said they wanted the president to run again. Regarding party affiliation, 57% of Democrats agreed, as did 66% of independents.
