(TheRedWire.com) – The push to have President Joe Biden withdraw from the presidential race allowing for a replacement Democratic Party 2024 nominee to emerge has completely lost its momentum. A new report found that following the recent assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump the effort was essentially “over.”
Over the past week and following the first presidential debate, many Democratic lawmakers and top donors have been pushing for Biden to exit the presidential race. Many of Trump’s allies however have argued that following the assassination attempt the momentum lost all of its force.
One Biden ally told NBC News that they believe the efforts are over. They added that there had been a bad political day during the debate but that with the “supernova event” that just occurred time was standing still. He added that if one is an advocate for how to tell Biden it is time to exit the race, that is a hard conversation to focus on publicly because this giant event was blocking the sun.
Following Saturday’s assassination attempt, Biden was quick to address the nation condemning the violence and noting that he was praying for Trump and his family. In his statement, he noted that he had been briefed about the shooting and that he was grateful the former President was safe and well. He added that he continues to pray for Trump and those who were in attendance at the rally.
He further noted that both he and his wife, Jill Biden, were grateful that the Secret Service had been able to get Trump to safety. He added that there was no place for such violence in the United States and that as a nation they needed to come together and condemn this incident.
