(TheRedWire.com) – On Thursday, a CNN poll showed again that a growing number of U.S. voters were worried about President Biden’s age while also finding that most of the GOP primary candidates performed well in hypothetical match-ups against the President.
The poll included several red flags for both parties. According to the poll, 46 percent of registered voters stated that any of the Republican candidates would be a better option for the 2024 presidential election than Biden. Biden’s age was also viewed as the most significant concern regarding his participation in the 2024 presidential race, with 49 percent of respondents claiming that they worried about it.
Biden’s approval rating was also relatively low, with only 39 percent of respondents approving of his performance in office. Seventy-four percent of Democrats also gave Biden their approval for his performance.
Regarding the hypothetical matchups, Biden and former President Donald Trump, leading the GOP primary race, were fairly equal in the polls. Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) was shown to win in a match-up with Biden by six points. However, many Democrats and Biden supporters argued that it was too early in the presidential race to focus too much on the hypothetical matchups.
Still, the CNN poll is not the only one that has shown that Biden should be concerned as his approval ratings have remained low, and many voters continue to be worried about his age.
Former Obama White House and campaign strategist David Axelrod recently told CNN that the numbers were not good and that Biden was not getting the credit he deserved for his “fairly substantial list of achievements.”
