Google Asked To BLACKLIST These Search Results
(TheRedWire.com) – As America moves closer to the Supreme Court potentially overturning Roe v. Wade, Democrats are becoming more restless and radical. If the Supreme Court overturns the 1973 Warren Court ruling, it won’t be a pronouncement on abortion. Instead, it may say that the 1973 high court overstepped its Constitutional authority in violation of the 10th and 14th Amendments and return decisions about abortion to the states.
Nearly half of the states have laws that either reduce or eliminate access to abortion and some radical pro-choice activists organized graphic protests at conservative Justices’ homes. Now, a group of Democratic lawmakers is asking Google to delist crisis pregnancy centers.
Democrats Want Google to Delist Crisis Pregnancy Centers
In a letter dated June 17, 21 Congressional Democrats asked Google to do the unthinkable. They demanded that Google ban crisis pregnancy centers from its search engine. The extremist lawmakers labeled crisis pregnancy centers as fake clinics because they don’t provide abortion services.
On Tuesday, June 21, The Federalist said Democrats want them delisted, so women will believe their only option is to seek out facilities that promote abortion services. The Democratic lawmakers repeated claims from the Center for Countering Digital Hate, saying that if the Supreme Court overturns Roe, 11% of search results of people seeking abortions will redirect them to the anti-abortion clinics. They alleged that the crisis pregnancy centers dabbled in misinformation and alleged that by not providing abortion services, the clinics don’t offer comprehensive health services. In addition, the lawmakers alleged that 37% of Google Map searches showed pro-life pregnancy centers.
The Democrats added that crisis pregnancy centers were dangerous for women’s health and undermined Google’s search integrity.
Will Google Comply?
The Democrats asked three questions in their letter:
- Will Google ban crisis pregnancy centers from searches using the words “abortion clinic” or “abortion pill?”
- If not, will the search engine include disclaimers on whether or not a provider offers an abortion?
- What steps will Google take to ensure searchers get accurate search results?
Over the last several years, Google has shown its liberal bias through censorship. Whether or not the Big Tech giant succumbs to Democrats and pro-choice activists and censors crisis pregnancy centers that offer an alternative to abortion remains an open question.
The letter is just one in a series of attempts to undermine any decision by the US Supreme Court. Already, activist groups are calling for a night of revenge. On Monday, the Wall Street Journal outlined violence by abortion activists over the last month alone and shared that one group called for inciting violence if the Supreme Court overturns Roe.
By mislabeling crisis pregnancy centers as “fake,” are the Democrats inviting more trouble?
