(TheRedWire.com) – The re-election campaign of Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida recently launched a six-minute video highlighting various well-known liberal personalities expressing their concern that DeSantis could be a “more perilous” contender for the presidency than ex-President Donald Trump.
On Sunday, the video was shared with the tagline: “The Left Acknowledges Their Greater Fear of DeSantis Over Trump – 6 Minutes Worth.” The video features numerous statements from key figures within the left-wing circles.
Prominent voices include Van Jones, who argued that DeSantis was “more dangerous than Trump,” and Olayemi Olurin, who expressed his belief that DeSantis had been “crafted in the furnace of the underworld.” Maxwell Frost also chimed in, cautioning those who thought Trump was problematic that they might be “in for a surprise.”
A common sentiment among these commentators was that DeSantis, as a more “adept” and “focused” candidate, could potentially implement the Republican party’s policies more effectively. Former Representative David Jolly, a Democrat from Florida, who appeared in the video, had previously criticized DeSantis’ approach to governing the state and pondered whether the public would want to see similar leadership on a national scale, given the power vested in the presidency.
On the same day, the Trump campaign communicated with Fox News Digital, emphasizing Trump’s strong standing in state and national polls. They concluded that voter opinion ultimately mattered most and that support for Trump was evident, as evidenced by his significant poll lead.
