(TheRedWire.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is widely expected to join the 2024 presidential race, is going to be an expensive person to bring forth during fundraising events. According to one GOP operative, DeSantis is probably going to attend an event set in the city he is in for around $500,000 while it would take around $1 million for him to travel out of his way to attend an event.

These statements were also reaffirmed by two other Republicans who are part of DeSantis’ efforts to raise cash during the shadow primary period.

However, what appears to be more important in this, is not the money that DeSantis requires in terms of an amount, but rather what that amount represents. DeSantis is clearly a high-demand figure with many donors being prepared to give him money.

Robert Wolf, who organized fundraising events for President Barack Obama, said that normally these would be considered “steep numbers” especially for someone who had not yet been part of a general election and was not an incumbent president, but DeSantis can still pull them.

While DeSantis appears to be winning the support of many Republican donors, especially after the donor retreat last weekend in Palm Beach, it is former President Donald Trump that is still leading the polls and appears to be beating DeSantis for the 2024 presidential nomination.
