Disney Removes the Words Boy and Girl From Their Narrative To Make Trans Kids Feel Included

(TheRedWire.com) – In February, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed HB 1557 into law. Some labeled it the Don’t Say Gay bill. That’s despite the fact the legislation doesn’t ban the word gay, nor does it restrict classroom topics related to sexual orientation or gender identity. It also doesn’t mandate parent notification if a child identifies as transgender or gay. However, it does prohibit classroom instruction regarding those issues with children in third grade or below.

Still, that’s not stopping Disney from getting caught in the crossfire. In early March, LGBTQ employees protested against the entertainment company for not condemning the bill to their satisfaction. It appears they are now getting their way. Journalist Christopher Rufo posted numerous videos of Disney executives conducting an all-hands meeting. Company leaders say they are implementing an unhidden gay agenda in children’s programming, and other leaders say the company is ditching words such as boys, girls, gentlemen, and ladies in their theme parks. Another said Gov. DeSantis is trying to hurt LGBTQ employees at Disney.

One Disney employee running for Congress said he believes the company is making a big mistake. Republican candidate Jose Castillo said Disney needs to get back to its mission statement of entertaining, informing, and inspiring people through storytelling.
