(TheRedWire.com) – In March, the Arizona state Senate authorized an audit of the 2020 election results as questions continue to swirl about the legitimacy of the Maricopa County presidential election. On a party-line vote, Arizona state Senate Republicans said transparency and finality were needed to ensure that voters could trust that their votes were accurately and fairly counted. However, President Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) is making things difficult.

The GOP’s newest leader in Congress is speaking up. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) says the actions by the DOJ to block the Arizona recount are unconstitutional. She claims the audit is good for the country and ought to be non-partisan. The new GOP leader asserted that states are responsible for writing their election laws and that the DOJ is improperly infringing on Arizona’s right to investigate the election.
Fortunately, key allies of former President Donald Trump are boosting the audit, giving it renewed financial resources and vigor so that it can continue unimpeded even in the face of the new DOJ inquiry.
