Dr. Oz Refuses To Say if He's a MAGA Republican

Trump-Endorsed Candidate Hesitant to Back MAGA

(TheRedWire.com) – During the spring primary season, former President Donald Trump endorsed Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz. After winning the early May Republican primary, the celebrity doctor went silent for a few months. During that time, Oz opened the door for his Democratic opponent, Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, to blast him on television. Over the last few weeks, President Joe Biden and numerous Democrats went on the offensive, criticizing what they called MAGA Republicans. On Tuesday, September 6, Fox News Host Bret Baier asked Oz if he considered himself a MAGA Republican.

Oz refused to answer the question directly despite Trump’s endorsement. The Pennsylvania Senate hopeful said he supported the former president’s agenda while he held the Oval Office. He stated that if “we put America first,” got firm on trade, and followed through on his White House plan, most Americans would say we would be in better shape as a country.

On Saturday, September 3, Oz joined Trump onstage during a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. POLITICO reported that, unlike in the spring, conservative voters at the rally enthusiastically welcomed the political newcomer. Oz told the audience he embraced the American dream, advocates for safe streets, and will work to turn around the country. One county GOP Party official said the base is coming around.

So, is Oz a MAGA Republican?

Trump appears to think so.
