(TheRedWire.com) – Frances Haugen is a 37-year-old data scientist with an advanced degree from Harvard Business School. She was also an employee at Facebook who recently blew the whistle on the social media giant’s algorithm. Aside from her battle with the social media platform, Haugen’s motives don’t appear to align with other Conservative causes. Haugen is a longtime Democratic donor. She doesn’t give to rank-and-file members. Instead, she’s a big supporter of groups trying to oust establishment Democrats in primaries and supported far-left darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

According to FEC records, Haugen gave 36 donations to Democratic or far-Left groups while working at Facebook, Pinterest, and Gigster. Her donations add up to approximately $2,000 since December 2016, or an average of $400 per year. Her most recent gift was to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) on August 4. In January 2020, she gave money to AOC and her PAC “Courage to Change,” which supports Leftists willing to run against establishment Democrats.
On Sunday, October 3, Haugen told 60 Minutes Facebook created conflicts between company profits and the public good. However, it appears her definition of public interest is very different from Conservatives’. Based solely on Haugen’s giving record, the former Facebook employee may not actually approve of free speech rights or the electoral process. While she talked about hate, violence and misinformation, readers can draw their own conclusions about what she means. It’s questionable whether Haugen is a voice for free speech or Conservatives banned on Facebook.
