FBI Informant Reveals Stunning Spy Operation

(TheRedWire.com) – Was former President Trump right? Were the allegations of Russian collusion just a political witch hunt? As time moves on, it’s becoming more and more clear that Trump might have been right on target. In 2019, then-Attorney General William Barr appointed federal prosecutor John Durham to investigate the origins of the Russian collusion narrative that the Mueller Report said never happened, and former Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein said there was no basis for the investigation.

In May 2020, it was revealed that the FBI created a counterintelligence operation against the Trump campaign in 2016, just weeks before the election. Barr said the FBI severely abused their powers. Now, a new report shows how far and wide the investigation went. It reveals that there wasn’t a criminal motive at all. Instead, FBI leadership investigated Trump for purely political purposes.

FBI Pursued Trump Campaign for Political Purposes

A recently declassified FBI document shows how undercover informant Stefan Halper made secret recordings, pressured Trump campaign officials for information, and looked for anyone in the Trump campaign who could provide information “damaging to Hillary Clinton.”

Does that sound like a criminal probe?

The report shows that the FBI didn’t just target Trump’s campaign foreign aide George Papadopoulos, who spent 14 days in prison for lying to investigators but was never charged with a crime related to collusion. They also investigated future Attorney General Jeff Sessions, economic advisor Peter Navarro, and General Michael Flynn, among others.

Current FBI Director Chris Wray repeatedly stated that the FBI did not participate in spying on the Trump campaign. However, the declassified document shows something very different. Halper created a fake cover story, secretly recorded campaign officials, did background checks, and tried to bait campaign officials into talking about potential exploits. The transcripts of Trump campaign advisers showed that they repeatedly provided statements of innocence.

According to several former FBI officials, there was never any evidence to suggest collusion between Trump and Russia. Lead FBI Agent William Barnett said in a report  that the investigation only continued because there was a “get Trump attitude among investigators.”

While Wray and others insisted they weren’t spying on the Trump campaign, their actions say something very different. There is much more to come on this story, especially once Durham finishes his investigation and releases a report.
