(TheRedWire.com) – The Biden administration is calling an emerging immigration crisis a “challenge.” However, over the last two weeks, the number of unaccompanied minor children has tripled at the border to 3,250. There are so many kids coming, the Department of Homeland Security is reopening two-child detention centers and possibly a third. President Obama initially opened the facilities in 2014, and former President Trump took unfair blame for housing children like criminals in 2018. Now, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy will take a delegation to the border to see the fiasco for themselves.
Last week, McCarthy wrote President Biden to express his concern over the administration’s handling of the growing crisis. Since taking office in January, Biden moved quickly to roll back former President Trump’s immigration policies that severely limited illegal immigration. His quick policy reversals led immigrants to believe they had the green light to begin streaming back into America through the southern border.
McCarthy said on Sean Hannity’s show that the administration couldn’t ignore what they’ve ignited.
