( – Former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), who now works as a Fox News host, has pushed former President Donald Trump to avoid taking a victory lap following Monday’s Supreme Court ruling in his favor. The Supreme Court unanimously decided that individual states did not have the authority to block him from the ballot in the presidential election this fall.

Gowdy stated that he would encourage Trump to do something that he was known for and that was to show humility, especially as there would be other legal cases coming his way and he would possibly not agree with all of those decisions. He added that he did not believe that Trump was going to win the presidential immunity case that he was bringing before the court.

On Monday the court determined in a unanimous decision that the lower court’s ruling disqualified him from participating in the Colorado primary race under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, known as the insurrection ban.

In celebration of the news, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to write that this was a big victory for the country. Trump has repeatedly in the past maintained that many of the legal battles he is facing are politically motivated and that they are just trying to block him from running in the presidential election in the fall.

Gowdy argued that Trump needed to show a little restraint both when he won and when he did not win, especially considering the upcoming presidential immunity case.
