Fully Vaccinated Malta Reaches Record COVID-19 Death Rate

(TheRedWire.com) – On Friday, January 21, New York Times reporter Bari Weiss told HBO host Bill Maher vaccines were supposed to be an off-ramp to COVID-19 government-mandated safeguards. She said government officials told Americans the country could get back to normal if they got vaccinated. It isn’t happening, and many want to know why. Could the small country of Malta hold the answer to that question?

Over 85% of Malta’s population is fully vaccinated, and 94% have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. These are numbers US health officials only hope to achieve. America’s vaccination rate is just under 64%. Despite Malta’s high vaccination rate, something astonishing is happening that isn’t supposed to be going on.

Malta’s citizens followed all of the draconian rules, and what do they have to show for it? Death rates are at their highest on record in the small country. Officials report despite the unprecedented number of vaccinations, nearly 525 people have died due to complications from COVID-19 since January 1. Leading up to Christmas Day, the country reported 1,300 positive cases per day.

The situation is leading some to ask whether Malta’s experience could repeat in the United States? Malta officials say the number of deaths is commensurate with the number of positive cases. In the United States, the number of Omicron cases is on the way down. Still, it doesn’t answer the question, if vaccines are supposed to stop major illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths, why is Malta experiencing so many deaths despite such a high vaccination rate?
