GOP Investigators Point Finger at Pelosi for Jan 6

( – For nearly two years, Democrats have used the January 6, 2021, riot as vice against Republicans and former President Donald Trump. They claim some GOP members and the former commander-in-chief instigated the insurrection by questioning the results of the 2020 presidential elections. Last fall, President Joe Biden stated MAGA Republicans threatened democracy. Now, several GOP investigators are pointing fingers at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for the riot.

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Jim Jordan (R-OH), and Troy Nehls (R-TX) published an independent 141-page report. They say the House Leadership under Pelosi instituted numerous failures that led to the riot. The report noted Democratic House leaders excluded Republicans from security meetings and were more interested in the optics of deploying the National Guard than protecting the Capitol building. Additionally, it noted the Capitol police were ill-trained to deal with mass demonstrations.

Former Capital Police Chief Steven Sund said after the riot that Pelosi’s office turned down requests to proactively deploy the National Guard six times ahead of the January 6 event. He also stated that the former House Sergeant at Arms said “optics” was the reason for balking at the National Guard deployment.

Banks said the report shed light on the falsity of the Democratic narrative. He noted it exposed the indifference and incompetence of the Speaker.
