Republican Representative Says House GOP Will Impeach Mayorkas
(TheRedWire.com) – Since President Joe Biden assumed office in January 2021, illegal immigration at the US southern border has exploded. Customs and Border Patrol reported that in fiscal year 2021, agents encountered over 1.7 million illegal immigrants. In fiscal year 2022, it exploded to nearly 2.4 million. Now, one House Republican says the GOP will impeach Department of Homeland Secretary (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas when they take over the chamber in January.
Rep. Ronnie Jackson (R-TX) told Fox News “Sunday Morning Futures” that human traffickers were moving immigrants through Mexico from 130 countries. He said they get them to the border, where the US government takes over logistics by providing them with transportation, mobile phones, education, welfare benefits, and health care. He claimed the government created incentives for people to come unlawfully.

Jackson said the Biden administration had offered no accountability for anything they had done or neglected to do. In a discussion about illegal immigration, the lawmaker stated Republicans will first focus on Mayorkas and said he “has to go.” The Texas Republican added they would use subpoenas and the power of the purse.
Jackson noted that Mayorkas was an “absolute disaster” and was the lead person who enabled the situation at the southern border. The Texas Republican added that Biden and the DHS secretary were “traffickers in chief.”
Will a slight Republican majority impeach Mayorkas?
Stay tuned.
