(TheRedWire.com) – Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) has pushed forward legislation that would ban the federal government from destroying or removing any of the border barriers following the Supreme Court’s ruling which would allow the Biden administration to get rid of the razor wire that had been installed by the state of Texas along the Southern border.
As Collins noted in a statement the Restricting Administration Zealots from Obliging Raiders (RAZOR) Act would be blocking the Biden administration from aiding illegal aliens who are invading the country and raiding U.S. resources. He then questioned why they would attempt to stop Texas from returning immigrants to Mexico. He then added that with the Supreme Court deciding to side with the Biden administration’s “America Last policies,” the Congress needed to back Governor Greg Abbott who is fighting for his state’s sovereignty.
The Biden administration and Texas have been in a legal battle since the state put up the razor wire barriers that block access to the state. The federal government has repeatedly claimed that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) does not have the authority to install barriers. However, Abbott has maintained that these are necessary for the state’s security.
The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the Biden administration in this case following an escalation in the conflict after Border Patrol officers were blocked from accessing the riverside park in Eagle Pass, Texas. This resulted in three migrants, one woman and two children drowning. Border Patrol agents have maintained that the Texas National Guard members have blocked them from entering the area and were therefore unable to save the three migrants.
