(TheRedWire.com) – On Monday, April 4, three states sued the Biden administration after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced last week that DHS would end a pandemic-era immigration program on May 23. Title 42 is a public health policy enforced during the pandemic to allow US immigration officials to deport immigrants quickly if they illegally cross the border to seek asylum. According to Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN), ending the program could be a mistake of epic proportions.
On Sunday, Hagerty appeared on Fox News Morning Futures. He warned there would be a human tidal wave at the southern border once Title 42 ends. To accommodate the onslaught of illegal immigrants coming after the administration lifts its enforcement, the Tennessee Senator said the government would need five times the number of border agents just to process the high number of people seeking asylum. In February, the Border Patrol deported nearly half of the 164,000 illegal immigrants encountered at the southern border due to Title 42.
It'll take five times as many border agents to process migrants at the southern border now that the Biden administration has decided to revoke a measure that expelled them during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., said on Sunday.

Hagerty explained border patrol agents spend more time processing migrants and less time actually patrolling the border and defending the country, falling in line with the drug cartels’ plans. The Senator added the administration is falling into the cartels’ ultimate trap, and drug dealers could move expensive illegal drugs into the US more easily and quickly past distracted and overworked Border Patrol agents.
The Biden administration claims agencies are ready for migrants’ run on the border.
