(TheRedWire.com) – Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated that Republicans are refusing to look at the actual facts of the federal case filed against former President Donald Trump, and are instead just claiming that there has been a double standard of justice used in this investigation.
Clinton, when asked about her opinion on the Republicans attacking the government over Trump’s indictment, claimed that it was “odd” that these criticisms were their only response and that they were choosing to not even read the indictment. She proceeded to say that they were refusing to “engage with the facts” but that in reality, this was nothing new.
Clinton, who appeared on Crooked Media’s “Pod Save America” for a live interview released on Tuesday, stated that what Republicans were refusing to state is that the allegations are on a “track” about Trump, but not about anyone else regardless of how many similarity claims they make to the public.
Clinton, who had run against Trump in the 2016 presidential election, referred to the different arguments that the Republicans were making, including those that were calling for her to be locked up. However, she dismissed those renewed calls claiming that this was always the Republican response “when in doubt.”
On Tuesday, Trump was indicted on 37 counts of criminal charges including willfully retaining national defense information, withholding or concealing documents in a federal investigation, false statements, and conspiracy to obstruct justice. These charges are all in connection to the investigation led by Special Counsel Jack Smith into Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021.
