(TheRedWire.com) – On Sunday morning, December 19, Democratic Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) told Fox News he could no longer negotiate on Joe Biden’s Build Back Better social and climate change proposal. He told host Brett Baier he was a “no” on the legislation, effectively killing it. Within minutes, irate far-left Democrats scolded Biden. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki took her shot a few hours later.

Psaki accused the centrist senator of changing his position and not keeping his promises to President Joe Biden. The press secretary said Manchin committed to ongoing conversations with the president several weeks ago. She alleged Manchin even submitted a legislative proposal to Biden he could live with, one the administration felt it could work with to get a deal done. Psaki added the White House would continue to pressure Manchin until he changed his position, stating the West Virginia senator was hurting people in his state.
On Monday, Manchin fired back at the White House and said they did several inexcusable things. While he refused to single anyone out specifically, the Senator stated they know who they are and what they did. Additionally, Manchin said he would not be bullied or pressured into supporting a bill he believed was bad for America. West Virginia is a deep red state, and Donald Trump captured more than 60% of the votes in 2020. Manchin is the only elected top leader in the state who’s a Democrat.
