(TheRedWire.com) – CNN’s Jim Acosta became known for his Left-wing meltdowns during the Trump administration. Now, the supposed journalist is spreading misinformation again. On Saturday, December 4, Acosta tried to make a case for the Democrats who want to abolish the filibuster to pass far-Left policies on a party basis. Acosta tried to suggest if Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell were in the majority, he would do the same thing. Yet, during McConnell’s time as the Senate Majority Leader, he was a fierce advocate of maintaining the filibuster to protect the minority party’s say in legislation.

During the Trump administration, McConnell worked to protect the long-held Senate rule that goes back over two centuries. In 2018, McConnell told the media he understood the filibuster’s purpose in the legislative process, even when Democrats hold the Senate majority. It was a rare instance in Washington, DC, of someone with power not exercising it to protect the privileges of the minority party. By keeping the filibuster in place, McConnell said it forces the party in power to find bipartisan solutions.
Today, far-Left Democrats want to either abolish or carve out the filibuster to pass voting rights legislation, pack the Supreme Court, and push through radical semi-Socialist and global climate proposals. On Twitter, Acosta received criticism for revising history and misrepresenting McConnell’s views.
