Recently leaked texts between Biden family members highlight the family’s struggle with addiction. Five members of the Biden family have sought out rehab in their fight against addiction.

Troubling facts emerged about the Biden family from the texts. In one from 2018, Joe Biden, himself, wrote to his son, Hunter, that he was proud of him and suggested the addiction was hereditary, saying the disease came from “mommy and me.”
Even though Joe and his first wife, Neilia, Hunter’s mother, claimed to be teetotalers (individuals who don’t consume alcohol), other family members have struggled with substance abuse, including alcohol and drugs. Neilia was killed in a tragic accident in 1972 when Hunter was only two years old.
Five Biden family members have all struggled with addiction or sought some sort of rehabilitation. They include Joe’s brother, Frank, Joe’s niece, Caroline (Frank’s daughter), his son, Hunter, his daughter with Dr. Jill Biden, Ashley, and his son Beau’s widow, Hailie. The texts also reveal that Biden has paid a substantial amount of money for rehab for some family members.
