Joe Biden's Brother Accused of Taking Foreign Payments

(TheRedWire.com) – In the weeks before the 2020 presidential election, the New York Post released a bombshell report about the business and personal exploits of Hunter Biden, reportedly based on files from his personal laptop. Mass media sources first reported the information as “Russian disinformation,” but investigations have since verified key findings. It held sensitive data about the Biden family and how they profited from Joe Biden’s notoriety at the time as Vice President. Now, the president’s brother, James Biden, is facing scrutiny over an accusation that he accepted foreign payments.

An expert Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) attorney sued the Department of Justice (DOJ) for failing to comply with his request for nearly two years. Kevin Evans said the DOJ admitted to a federal court they had over 400 documents regarding Hunter and Jim Biden’s business dealings with China, Russia, and Ukraine. He asked for any documents relating to “any relationship, communication, gift(s), and/or remuneration in any form” between the two family members and the three countries in question.

Despite the government’s acknowledgment of the 400 documents, it appears the DOJ is trying to stop their release. They say they can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the records. Emails recovered from Hunter Biden’s laptop and whistleblower testimonies allege he was engaging with a Chinese oil company with strong ties to the Chinese communist government.

The deal was worth millions of dollars, and bank records indicated the Chinese partners paid Hunter Biden $10 million as part of a joint venture. Additionally, texts, emails, and whistleblower statements indicate Joe Biden might have known about his son’s dealings and possibly participated.

Still, it’s unclear if Evans will receive the information he requested. The expert said the courts have gutted the FOIA law’s intention, making it toothless. He went on to explain that by not complying with the spirit of the law, judges routinely side with the government, accepting its legal positions instead of demanding that it disclose the requested information.
