(TheRedWire.com) –  On Monday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams officially provided his endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris, only a day after it was announced by President Joe Biden that he is going to be dropping out of the presidential race. After dropping out of the race, Biden also endorsed Harris to be his replacement on the Democratic ticket.

While Adam has in the past criticized heavily the Biden administration over its handling of the southern border, he did not

During his appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” he noted that he was looking forward to the party heading to the Democratic National Convention where Harris is going to officially be named the party’s nominee. He added that everyone knows that he is focused on public safety, which is an issue that Harris has been very clear on throughout her time on the campaign trail. He added that he believes Harris is the voice that the Democratic Party needs right now.

Adam’s latest remarks are in contrast to the comments he had made one night earlier to CNN when he had slammed the Biden administration over its border policies. Many GOP lawmakers have argued that the Biden administration is to blame for the record-high number of illegal entries into the country.

At the start of the Biden administration, Harris had been named the “border czar” and was meant to be responsible for addressing the root causes of illegal immigration and to help curb the flow of illegal immigrants.

Adam has noted during a town hall meeting recently that the migrant crisis could destroy New York City. In that interview, he told host Erin Burnett that he was getting frustrated with national leadership and with dealing with the lack of immigration reforms.
