(TheRedWire.com) – Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) has argued that the committee’s top priority would be to ensure that votes are protected in the upcoming general election in November.
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo had asked Lara Trump about what her top priority would be now that she had been elected. In response, she pointed out that Attorney General Merrick Garland had made comments earlier this month in which he had noted that the Department of Justice was going to be challenging states that were pushing “unnecessary restrictions” on ballot access.
Shea argued that this was a big problem and that currently there were three things that the committee would need to focus on in order to win on November 5, the first is voter turnout, the second being fundraising and then finally protecting the vote. She argued that out of their three elections integrity and protecting the votes were the most important things as they needed to ensure that everyone who went to vote should feel confident that their vote was going to be counted.
She added that they could not allow a repetition of 2020 to occur, with all of the questions relating to election integrity.
Following the 2020 presidential election, former president Trump and some of their allies argued that there was widespread election fraud and that the election had been stolen. However, there is no evidence available to back these claims.
Lara Trump argued that as the new co-chair, she would push for the committee to establish an “election integrity division.
