(TheRedWire.com) – Over three dozen GOP lawmakers have signed a letter demanding President Joe Biden submit to a cognitive test, saying the American people deserve to know he can perform his duties as the President of the United States of America. The letter, written by former White House physician, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), includes various examples of Biden’s “mental decline,” including outbursts, incoherent rants and very concerning hot mic moments.
Nearly 40 House Republicans Sign Letter
Nearly 40 House Republicans signed the letter, stating Americans deserve full transparency regarding the President’s mental state and asking him to submit to a test immediately. Among the instances of concern, the lawmakers cited Biden’s seeming inability to read a teleprompter, which caused the president to misquote important figures and statements.
Jackson also referred to The Alzheimer’s Association’s list of symptoms, including forgetfulness, mood and personality changes, and becoming easily upset. He’s forgotten the names of senior cabinet officials and mentioned how he didn’t know if his mic was on after finishing opening remarks during a cabinet meeting back in January of this year.
In Biden’s most recent “hot mic” moment, he called Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b****” for asking questions about the current state of the economy and inflation.
Former President Donald Trump Took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment
Jackson’s letter also points out former President Donald Trump submitted to an assessment, taking the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test in 2018. Jackson administered the assessment during his tenure as the President’s physician. The Texas representative stated his belief that all presidents should follow Trump’s example and demonstrate their cognitive proficiency to lead the country.
Legislators who signed the letter include Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY), Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ), GOP conference vice chairman Rep. Mike Johnson (LA) and Republican Study Committee chairman Rep. Jim Banks (IN), among others. The lawmakers agreed taking a cognitive test should become “routine” for any future president, regardless of age, sex, gender, or political affiliation.
During an interview with Fox News, Jackson noted that Trump was eager to demonstrate his mental capability to the country to prove he was more than capable of leading and end questions regarding his mental state.
Jackson added, in his opinion, Biden has continued to prove something isn’t right with him, and as a former physician to three presidents, he knows what it takes for presidents to be effective leaders.
Why Won’t President Joe Biden Take a Cognitive Test?
According to Jackson, House Republicans and millions of Americans will continue to assume the worst until Biden takes a cognitive test and publishes the results for everyone to see.
He added President Trump gloated about his results, saying he “aced the test,” which was designed to detect even the most minuscule signs of impairment like onset dementia. He asked during the interview, “If Trump took the test, why won’t President Biden do the same?” At the age of 79, Biden is the oldest person to be sworn in as president, considered one the toughest, most stressful jobs in the world.
