Leaked Docs Indicate DHS Took Part in Censorship
(TheRedWire.com) – Online censorship of Conservatives has been a serious issue for many Americans for years. Twitter kicked former President Donald Trump off the platform, along with numerous others who held political views differing from those held by the Left. Now, it appears that social media executives held meetings with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to talk about censoring numerous topics, including the withdrawal from Afghanistan, racial justice, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the government’s support of Ukraine in its defense against Russia.
The revelation came through a leak to The Intercept, which published the details on Monday, October 31, and in documents in a lawsuit filed by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt against the Biden administration. Schmitt alleges the government colluded with Big Tech to censor people’s First Amendment rights.

The leaked data revealed the government’s process to flag what it deemed misinformation to Facebook. Those in attendance in some meetings included Twitter’s head of legal policy, trust, and safety, Vijaya Gadde, and Kate Starbird, a far-left professor overseeing the government’s “Election Integrity Partnership.” The two also serve on the CISA, an advisory committee for DHS.
In June, CISA called on DHS to monitor social media platforms, cable news, talk radio, mainstream media, and other online sources. The stated goal was to stop the spread of supposed misinformation that undermined the government, courts, financial system, or public health safety.
